Branstrator Farm

Their Story

At Branstrator Farm, our priority is producing high quality fruits and vegetables for our community while maintaining a healthy ecosystem. The farm is comprised of 8 acres of strawsberries, four acres of asparagus, four of peach trees, five of pumpkins and winter squash, four of staked tomatoes, some blackberries, raspberries and currants.

Production Practices

We use where necessary, integrated pest management (IPM). IPM is an ecosystem based strategy that focuses on the long term prevention of pests or their damage. IPM combines techniques such as biological control, habitat modification, changes in cultural practices, and the use of pest-resistant cultivars. Pesticides are applied only when monitoring indicates they are needed according to established guidelines. Pesticides are selected and applied in ways that minimize risks to humans and the environment.
